Your Lindsay Brooke Invitation itself will arrive fully assembled, together with all the elements that you have ordered. Begin by setting up the elements in your invitation package in individual stacks in the order in which they will be used, as in an assembly line*. Keep the stacks even in number and do not seal your envelopes until all elements are equally distributed. Place stamps on all the response card envelopes.
Fig. 1 demonstrates the correct insertion of a flat card invitation, or a folded invitation with the verse on the outside, into the inner envelope. This also depicts the correct insertion into an outer envelope if your invitation package includes only outer envelopes.

If you are using an invitation folder for your wedding stationary, the associated items will be slipped into the appropriate pocket and you may follow Fig. 5 for correct placement into the envelope.
Before buying postage stamps, have one invitation weighed at the Post Office window. In addition to the weight, the shape of the invitation may require extra postage. After having your invitation weighed, check on available wedding postage.
Local invitations should be mailed out six weeks before the wedding and out of town invitations should be sent out eight weeks before the wedding date. (Out of town guests should receive a Save the Date card six to eight months before the wedding.) When you are ready to mail your invitations, hand deliver them to the post office and request hand canceling. You will avoid automated processing machines and the result will be a more attractive wedding invitation.
* Save the Date, At-Home Cards and Wedding Programs should not be sent with the invitation.
