Magical, romantic, sophisticated, formal, enchanting – whatever the theme for your perfect day – use color to help create the ambiance.
Don’t know where to begin? Consider the season during which your wedding will take place and the location you have chosen. Review the gallery of color combinations below. Are there one or two arrangements that keep drawing your attention? Close your eyes and imagine flowers, dresses, favors and ribbons in those colors. Without realizing it, you will be very close to choosing your colors.
How about periwinkle blue and white? Cobalt and hydrangea blue.
Turquoise and coral. Soft blue and chocolate brown. Marine blue and lemon yellow. Blue-violet and lavender. The list is endless. Maybe that’s why blue is our favorite wedding color.

Navy blue can be whatever you want it to be. In the springtime, a soft pink is absolutely breathtaking with navy. Fuchsia, tangerine, lemon yellow and lime green are summer showstoppers. Turquoise and navy set the stage for a wedding on the beach while navy and silver are elegant for winter and holiday weddings. Pair navy with white for semi-formal events. You are totally in control with navy!

Baby chicks, Easter eggs and tulips. Yellow is so popular. Small wonder. Who doesn’t love the springtime appeal of pastel yellow and lavender? Yellow brings out the best in nearly any color – think of it with pastels for spring, with reds for summer and with oranges for fall. And yellow is amazing with white!

Versatile – subject to rapid or unpredictable change. Like sunsets and autumn leaves, orange is so versatile, it can change to fit your theme or season. Beautiful for high summer with blues, deep lavender or aqua, accented by orange daisies. Or pair it with lemon yellow or cream for two very different moods. Autumn finds orange richer, much deeper and paired with complementary colors and gold. Gorgeous.

Wow! Pink!! From the time we were little girls most of us loved pink.
Pink peonies, ribbons, cotton candy, lipstick, sapphires. Can any girl really get enough pink? Use it with pastel colors for spring and brilliant shades of color red, orange and yellow to set the stage for a summer gala.

Can anything match the clarity and brilliance of red? Perfect for winter and holiday celebrations, red also performs beautifully alongside lemon yellows for summer, gold and oranges for autumn and pinks and fuchsia for spring. If chosen wisely, red can absolutely set the tone for your special day.

Chocolate brown adds a richness and depth that few other colors can match. Perhaps that is why it’s been a favorite with brides over the last few years. Pair it with melons and corals for a summer or beach wedding, orange, deep reds and gold for fall and aqua or pinks for spring. And in the end, which bride can resist chocolate?

Green is not only a trend for the environmentally conscious; it is a truly joyful color for spring and summer weddings. Pair a delicate green with pastel pinks, yellows and violets to unlock memories of Easter egg hunts, rainbow sherbet and little girls’ sundresses.
Choose chartreuse and a hot pink or bright orange for a Jamaican mood. And for a hot summer evening reception, cool the night with a lush lime green and marine blue.

When you were very young, do you remember how you were drawn to the purple in your box of crayons? And if you had the box of 64, you could choose from colors like violet, blue-violet, mulberry, red- violet, fuchsia and lavender. Now, imagine one or two of these rich colors, add some cobalt or periwinkle blue hydrangeas and you’ve got sophisticated elegance. Or use your favorite violet with silver and you’ve got spectacular!

The most formal of weddings command black and white for the bride and black or gray for the groom. Pastel colors can be added to the flowers and the bridesmaids may wear subtle, pastel shades. Adding silver heightens the drama for holiday weddings while adding more color lessons the formality. Always be sure to include black tie in your wedding invitation so that your guests will be dressed appropriately.
